Chesterton Humbert's Somerley Park International Horse Trials.
Regrettably due to the continuous rainfall over the past few months and in recent days, the Organisers of Somerley Park Horse Trials scheduled for 25 – 26 March have made the difficult decision to cancel the Event.
Organiser Suzannah Cotterill commented: “The water levels at Somerley Park have reached such a point that we cannot access the ground to finish event preparations which unfortunately leaves us with no option other than to cancel.
“The hope is by cancelling now, Members will be able to re-route and make alternative competition plans.” Members will be refunded in full in the coming weeks.
BE Sport Operations Manager Chris Farr added: “It is such a pity to cancel Somerley. We are currently exploring the viability of rescheduling Somerley later in the calendar with the Organisers.”
MacMillan Cancer Support had been nominated as Somerley’s 2014 charity in memory of the late Adele Schardt who organised the Event many years; for those who would like to donate please visit www.macmillanlocalorg/donate.php
